SBSR 2018 – ″Shaping the future of the Black Sea Region: Gamechangers and Predictors″
The fifth edition of the international training Program “Security in the Black Sea Region. Shared challenges, sustainable future” (SBSR), organized by the Romanian Intelligence Service, though the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy, in partnership with Harvard University and the National Intelligence University (US), under the high patronage of the Romanian Presidency, is taking place between May 28th – 31st.
SBSR is a training program, an interactive and collaborative platform for actors involved in the sustainable development of the Black Sea Region, as well as in its security situation. The program was initiated by Harvard University in 1997 and Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy took over and has been developing the philosophy and objectives of the regional program Black Sea Security, since 2014.
In order to generate debates regarding the internal and external factor which will influence the security and regional development of the Black Sea Region, the 2018 edition of SBSR is carried out under the umbrella of ″Shaping the future of the Black Sea Region: Gamechangers and Predictors″.
SBSR 2018 reunites over 50 participants and lectures from countries such as Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Germany, the Great Britain, the Republic of Moldova, Serbia, US, Romania, Turkey or Ukraine, as well as EU and NATO high-ranking officials. Representatives from most prestigious international entities, such as Harvard University, Oxford University, Kadir Has University, Heritage Foundation, Hudson Institute will take part and contribute to the lectures and interactive exercises.
The opening ceremony will be attended by Brigadier General Cristian Bizadea, Deputy Director of the Romanian Intelligence Service, the official advisor to the President of Romania, Mr. Nicolae Nasta, Secretary of State, Ministry of Defense, Mr. Dănuț Sebastian Neculăescu, Secretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dr. Sergei Konoplyov, Director, Eurasia Security Program, Harvard University.
